Where is your Hometown?
What was your major(s)/degree(s) and where did you go to school?
I majored in Human Development and Family Science at Ohio State University (Go Bucks!) during undergrad and then went on to graduate school at the University of Tennessee to start my Masters in school counseling but finished up at Liberty University to allow me to complete my internship back in Ohio.
Why did you pursue a career in higher education?
I love helping people pursue their goals and dreams. Being an advisor here at Texas State allows me to reach students who are in an important time in their life of deciding on their path not only here at TXST but beyond.
What is your favorite part of working for Texas State University?
Besides the campus being beautiful and really enjoying the team I work with, being a part of a university is a wonderful experience and offers tons of opportunities to grow as a professional and to be involved with the community and students we serve.
What “words of wisdom” would you like to share with students?
Make yourself memorable to others… in a good way! You never know whose path may cross with yours and where life will take you. Take advantage of having a campus full of people to meet and network with while here at TXST.
Tell us a random fact about yourself:
Although I love holidays in general, Christmas and the 4th of July are my absolute favorite and I especially love spending time with my family on these holidays.
