Where is your hometown?
I was born in southern California but grew up in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

What was your major(s)/degree(s) and where did you go to school?
I received both my Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and my Master of Education in Postsecondary Administration and Student Affairs from the University of Southern California.

Why did you decide to pursue a career in higher education?
When I graduated college I was still very unsure of my direction and felt that I should have been more forward thinking about what I wanted in both my personal and professional future. My experience inspired me to go into student affairs so I could be a mentor for students and support them in proactively engaging in their college career and using their resources to the fullest.

What is your favorite part of working for Texas State University?
It’s exciting to be at a university that is growing and changing with the community around it. I’m also truly enjoying the southern hospitality

What “words of wisdom” would you like to share with students?
Take advantage of your academic and extracurricular opportunities. Open yourself up to new experiences and challenge yourself to go outside of your comfort zone.

Tell us a random fact about yourself:
I am one of two sets of fraternal twin girls. Each one of us does not closely resemble our twin.  I look more like one of my older sisters and my twin looks more like the other one.
