What is your favorite part of working for Texas State University?
I truly enjoy the beauty and uniqueness of this campus. It has grown considerably overtime and always kept a small school feel based on the awesome faculty and staff. Also, I am truly blessed to work in an office with an awesome team of gifted professionals, as well as an awesome student-body which I am very passionate about assisting and mentoring.
Tell us a random fact about yourself:
I like expressing myself through fashion. I enjoy sports and especially playing golf. Back in the late 1800’s my Great Great Grandfather and his brothers owned a pottery business (H. Wilson and Co, Wilson Pottery) and were considered by historians to be the first black entrepreneurs in Texas.
What “words of wisdom” would you like to share with students?
Make sure to view your time as a student as an experience that you take on with an open-mind! I encourage getting involved with student organizations, academic organizations, and other campus activities because it helps you become more acclimated as well as gain exposure within your field of interest. Involvement will also provide you the opportunity to obtain important skills such as leadership, professionalism, and networking. Remember as you go through this important process in your life that you are actually preparing for a future career. Best Wishes!!!
