The McCoy College Academic Advising Center will be a national model for excellence and innovation in academic advising.

Mission

In support of Texas State’s undergraduate academic advising mission, the McCoy College of Business Administration Academic Advising Center is an accessible, student-centered support service that provides official and accurate academic information, encourages students to develop educational goals, and enables students to identify strategies for success.

Goals

Goal 1 - Ensure students have access to knowledgeable academic advisors in a manner that allows for positive relationship formation.
Goal 2 – Enable and support student decision-making by providing students with accurate and timely information regarding educational opportunities, requirements, policies, and procedures.
Goal 3 - Teach students to develop and implement educational plans that are compatible with their interests and abilities.
Goal 4 - Assist students in gaining an understanding of the value, purpose and expectations of their higher educational experience.
Goal 5 - Assist students with identifying University and College resources that can help them meet their academic and career goals.
