Students Applying for Texas State Admission and McCoy College Admission (Not yet Admitted to Texas State)
Make note of the admission requirements and deadlines. All application materials requested by Undergraduate Admissions must be received by the deadline. Students transferring with 30 or more semester hours must see the admission requirements for courses that must be completed in order to be considered for admission to McCoy College. Apply online at www.applytexas.org and follow procedures for admission provided by Undergraduate Admissions. List your first choice major as one of the business majors. The Apply Texas application serves as both the application to Texas State and McCoy College for students not currently attending Texas State.
Check the status of your Texas State application online at www.admission.txstate.edu. The Office of Undergraduate Admissions notifies applicants by letter of their admission to Texas State and McCoy College.
Once admitted, students must attend Texas State's New Student Orientation where they will meet with an advisor and register for classes.
Important notes:
Transfer students who have not completed all courses required to be considered for admission to McCoy College may still be considered for admission to Texas State.
A student who is admitted to Texas State but denied admission to McCoy College will be considered for admission to his/her second choice major or as undecided. The student may apply to McCoy College via the current student process once they are attending Texas State.

Currently Attending Texas State Students with 30 or more Hours
The application periods for current Texas State students are January 1 to March 15 for summer and fall admission and June 1 to October 15 for spring admission.
Verify that you are eligible to apply. To be eligible, you must have completed/have prior credit for the required courses of ENG 1310, ENG 1320, and MATH 1329, or their equivalents. The grades must be posted to your Texas State transcript. Your performance in these courses along with your overall GPA will be considered in the admission process. Applicants who meet automatic admission requirements will be notified of their admission decision within 1 to 5 business days following the receipt of their application. When granted, automatic admission is effective for the current semester. Applicants who are considered for admission through competitive review (overall GPA below 3.0) will be notified within 2 to 6 weeks following the application deadline.
Currently Attending Texas State Students with less than 30 Hours
The application periods for current Texas State students are January 1 to March 15 for summer and fall admission and June 1 to October 15 for spring admission.
Applicants must have completed a four-year bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in order to be eligible for a second bachelor's degree.
You will receive notification of your admission decision by Undergraduate Admissions. Once you have received your acceptance letter you may contact the academic advising center to schedule an advising appointment. In the initial appointment the advisor will review your degree plan and provide information about course enrollment.
*Please send all transcripts in addition to the transcript showing your degree awarded.
Former Texas State Students
A former Texas State student is anyone who has previously been enrolled at Texas State past the census date for any given academic term.
Upon readmission to Texas State, students that were previously classified as admitted to McCoy College during their last term of attendance will be readmitted to McCoy College (excluding students removed from the college based on academic probation or suspension). Students that were not admitted to McCoy College during the last term of attendance at Texas State must also submit the McCoy College Application for Admissionby the applicable deadline to be considered for McCoy College admission.
Students admitted to Texas State, but not McCoy College may obtain advising from the University College Academic Advising Center. Students admitted to McCoy College should contact the McCoy College Academic Advising Center for an appointment.
Visiting Students
Students from other universities who temporarily take business courses at Texas State with the intention of transferring back to their home institution are called visiting students. Enrollment in business courses is contingent upon admission to Texas State as a transient or special student, course seat availability, satisfactory completion of all course prerequisites, and approval of a Texas State academic advisor.
Once granted approval for the requested courses, the student will be contacted by a McCoy College academic advisor who will coordinate the student's enrollment.
