Access Your Information at Texas State

As a future student, you have access to your information in the Texas State system once you have applied to Texas State and been issued at student ID number.  Your student ID number will be included on all correspondence with Texas State and is located at the top of your admission or denial of admission letter.

CatsWeb - Student Services Menu is Texas State's student information interface.  Follow the directions below to use CatsWeb.  Be sure to keep your PIN number that you create in a safe place as it will be used to log into the system when you register for and attend New Student Orientation and later register for classes.

Steps for Accessing Your Information

1. Select the option on the CatsWeb - Student Services Menu named "Create your CATS PIN" located under Technology Resources.

2. Follow the on-screen instructions for creating a PIN.  If you cannot create a PIN, you may not be far enough along in the admission process.

3. Use your ID number and newly created PIN to access your information using the services on the Student Services Menu.  Some links of interest for future students:

  • Transcripts: Allows you to access your Texas State transcript which will include all transferable work with Texas State course numbers or transfer codes assigned.  You must have provided the Office of Undergraduate Admissions transcripts from all of you previous work and this work must have been evaluated by admissions before it will appear.
  • My Financial Aid: Allows you to track your financial aid application.  For all questions regarding this feature please contact the Office of Student Financial Aid.
  • Generate a Degree Audit Report: The Degree Audit Reporting System (DARS) is used by students and advisors to track degree requirements.  If you have not yet been admitted to a degree program, then follow the instructions on this page for creating a what-if audit.  Complete instructions for generating an audit are available hereIMPORTANT: Please note that as a future student, the degree audit reporting system may not automatically apply courses that transfer as ELNA or ELADV to your degree program.  Further evaluation may be needed. Your advisor will explain this process to you at New Student Orientation and/or in subsequent meetings after you attend orientation.

Important Notes:  New students will perform class registration for the first time at New Student Orientation, at which time the new student advising hold is removed.
