2011 Business Leadership Week: "Beyond Business: Ethics, Environment, Economy", February 14 - 18, 2011 More details will be announced soon!
Started in 2009, Business Leadership Week is a signature event for McCoy College. The week is designed to engage the Texas State community in discussions relating to contemporary issues in leadership. Each year, the theme of Business Leadership Week is based on the theme for Texas State University’s Common Experience. The Common Experience engages the campus community in shared consideration of a single topic. The McCoy College is committed to encouraging discussion on these important topics while enriching the experiences of business students. The theme for the 2011 Business Leadership Week is based on the concept of Sustainability.
Speakers at Business Leadership Week events have included Corey Ciocchetti, Assistant Professor of Business Ethics at the University of Denver, Richard Garriott, entrepreneur and astronaut, John Oehlke, VP of the South Region for The Coca-Cola Company, renowned expert Diane Gottsman of the Protocol School of Texas, and various other business executives and experts. The 2010 event attendance of 850 was more than double the previous year and growth is expected to continue as we attract high profile speakers in the future.
Students and faculty alike praise the week for providing cutting-edge and informative events. In addition to thought provoking speakers, the week includes interactive workshops where student participants develop skills that will allow them to compete in a dynamic business environment.
