The Accounting Club provides a place for students with similar academic interests to meet, establish friendships, communicate ideas, and acquire valuable knowledge of the accounting profession. The purpose of the organization is to recognize and encourage an active interest in the profession of accounting and to keep abreast of advances and trends in the accounting field. The accounting club is supported by the Members, Alum, and the Accounting Department which, in any combination, help to form a network of friendships and opportunities that can be called upon for guidance, insight, and recommendations.

The Department of Marketing has announced the initiation of Alpha Mu Alpha, a national marketing honorary society recognizing and rewarding scholastic achievement among marketing students. To be invited to join Alpha Mu Alpha, marketing majors are required to have 90+ credit hours and be in the top 15% of their class based on GPA. Since its inception, the national office has recognized the Texas State chapter in San Marcos with the superior chapter award. The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business accreditation opened the door to Beta Gamma Sigma, the preeminent honor society for business programs accredited by AACSB International, and the Texas State BGS chapter was established in November 1997. Helping dreams come true for young entrepreneurs and college business owners, the Collegiate Entrepreneurs' Organization (CEO) chapter at Texas State University is an award-winning group of entrepreneurs and business students. CEO is a global network that informs, supports, and inspires college students to be entrepreneurial and seek opportunity through enterprise creation. Throughout the semester we promote collegiate entrepreneurs on and around our campus through fundraising activities, internships, and even our own businesses. Every fall semester, more than 1,600 students, faculty, and others interested in entrepreneurship attend a 2 1/2 day CEO Conference in Chicago, IL, where students come together to network, compete in a variety of different competitions, and that's not all. Over 80 outstanding entrepreneurs and business leaders share their ideas and expertise with students on how they launched their businesses, the lessons they've learned, and where they are today.

The Financial Management Association at Texas State University allows students to become more familiar with the different career opportunities within the financial industry. FMA is open to all majors and has had a wide variety of speakers from such companies to come and speak about what their position entails, what they look for when hiring, and also possible internship positions. FMA has co-hosted events such as “A Conversation About the Current Economic Crisis,” where a panel of guest speakers answered questions and further explained the economic crisis to a large student audience.

Hispanic Business Student Association’s goal is to prepare members for their future endeavors and encourage them to become great leaders. HBSA organization serves as a student chapter of the National Hispanic Business Association (NHBA), the umbrella organization. HBSA welcomes all majors, ethnicities and classifications. Their dedication to promote diversity stems from the NHBA’S goal to encourage the advancement of Hispanic college students in the business world.
The MBA Student Association acts as a liaison between the MBA student body and the faculty and administration of the McCoy College of Business Administration. The goal of the MBA Student Association is to enrich each McCoy MBA student’s experience by connecting them with fellow students, faculty, and administrators outside of the classroom. All McCoy MBA students, located in San Marcos or Round Rock, are encouraged to join.
