Where is your hometown?
What was your major(s)/degree(s) and where did you go to school?
I have a BBA in Management & an M.Ed in Management of Technical Education which I received from Texas State University.
Why did you decide to pursue a career in higher education?
I loved getting my BBA, but I’ve always had a heart for education. So when I was able to find a career that allowed me to utilize both it was a dream come true. Like every part of a person’s educational career, the time they spend at an institution of higher education is just as pivotal as when they first began learning in a school. People are constantly evolving as they gain more knowledge and it is a wonderful thing to get to share a small part in that.
What is your favorite part of working for Texas State University?
Absolutely everything. As a part of TXST’s alumni, there is already the instilled pride of being a fellow bobcat along with our students, an appreciation for the beautiful campus, and especially all of the amazing people I work with. I am so fortunate to work in an environment with as many selfless, caring, and genuinely sincere people as those working at Texas State University. I am inspired every single day by my students, faculty, fellow staff, and supervisors.
Tell us a random fact about yourself:
I couldn’t understand all the commotion about coffee for the longest time because I never had actually started drinking it until my very final semester of college for my undergrad. It’s safe to say that since then I have joined the majority of our population and have yet to start my day without at least one cup!
