Where is your hometown?
My hometown is Austin, Texas. However, right before third grade, I moved with my mom and sister to Tampa, Florida. I grew up there, but spent summers and winter break in Austin with my dad. After my high school graduation in 2012, I chose to move back to Texas and start a new chapter of my life.

What was your major(s)/degree(s) and where did you go to school?
I graduated in May 2019 at Texas State (go bobcats!) with a Bachelor's in Liberal Arts, with a major in history. I am planning on pursuing my Master's at Texas State either in Spring 2020 or in the following fall semester.

Why did you decide to pursue a career in higher education?
I fell in love immediately with Texas State during my undergrad and am so blessed for the amazing people and opportunities this university has offered me. Knowing that I am able to assist undergrads with any concerns or questions they may have, which I know I came across during my own experience as an undergrad, uplifts me and drives me to accomplish more. I am grateful that I have found my place with the McCoy family, and that we are all in this together and goal driven to help in the best way that we can.

What is your favorite part of working for Texas State University?
I love the diversity and the overwhelming amount of pride I am surrounded by from the students, faculty, and the staff. On top of Texas State being the most beautiful campus, the people and what it represents to be a bobcat is the most beautiful part.

What “words of wisdom” would you like to share with students?
Try your best to be open-minded with opportunities and people who enter your life. Everyone is going to be different, and have their own unique ways of doing things and their own beliefs. And that’s okay! It’s important to celebrate our differences and come together with our own doings and turn it into something incredible.

Tell us a random fact about yourself:
I played the viola for seven years, I am OBSESSED with my dog Stella, and I try to travel to one national park each year. My next trip will include three: Banff, Jasper, and Yoho National Parks in Canada!
