Where is your hometown?
What was your major(s)/degree(s) and where did you go to school?
Bachelor of Science in Psychology and minor in English Literature from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. Master of Arts in Occupational Workforce Leadership Studies from Texas State University.
Why did you decide to pursue a career in higher education?
I’m a first-generation student from a border town so, college always seemed foreign and almost impossible to achieve. I spent long days and nights studying and going through many trial and error moments, but eventually I earned my degree. Being the first to graduate from college in my family is something I hold close to my heart and take pride in, and I want nothing more than for others to feel the same; working in higher education allows me to do that. I couldn’t be happier guiding fellow Bobcats to grow as professionals and as individuals.
What is your favorite part of working for Texas State University?
Texas State has so many reasons to be loved! I get to work on such a beautiful campus with faculty, staff, and students that never fail to inspire me. What more can I ask for?
